Morgan Stanley announces crypto research team
The global investment firm recognized the the growth of the segment in global markets
News company Bloomberg published that the global investment bank Morgan Stanley has issued this Monday a memo to its internal staff informing them of the new research team dedicated only to crypto research. The team will be led by Sheena Shah, who is the firm lead cryptocurrency analyst.
Morgan Stanley’s move has been seeing with a lot of enthusiasm, once the company stated in its memo:
“The launch of dedicated crypto research is in recognition of the growing significance of cryptocurrencies and other digital assets in global markets”
The firm had already digged into the crypto universe, being considered the first of the major investment banks to do so. Back in March, MP started with three Bitcoin funds available to the clients and in April, they added Bitcoin to investment strategies of 12 mutual funds.
Sheena Shah will be based in London, reporting to Morgan Stanley’s fintech and payments research team leader in Europe, Adam Wood, and to the leader of the firm’s fintech and payments research team in the US, James Faucette.
Morgan Stanley’s investment in research for digital assets matters means another huge step to build more trust and credibility to the crypto market, especially among more reserved people who still have issues with this kind of investment.
The involvement of a great investment company such as MP, signifies more adherence to cryptocurrencies and its technology in general.
